Ahmedabad police have arrested a 25-year-old Delhi resident for allegedly creating and circulating 100 AI-generated obscene and morphed images of a woman from Ahmedabad. The accused, identified as Rahul Sharma (name changed for privacy), was apprehended on Tuesday under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act, following a rigorous investigation.
The case came to light when the victim, a 28-year-old software professional from Ahmedabad, filed a complaint stating that she had received multiple AI-generated images of herself in compromising and obscene poses from an unknown number on her social media accounts. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the images were created using advanced AI tools, which were then shared widely across social media platforms, causing immense mental distress to the victim.
