This rainfall has provided relief from the scorching heat. According to the weather department, due to the active western disturbance, thunderstorms and rain are likely in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Jammu-Kashmir, and Bihar, among other states, from May 28 to May 31.
The weather department has issued different color-coded alerts for various regions in Delhi and NCR. An orange alert has been issued for Delhi and Noida due to the likelihood of rain and strong winds, while a red alert has been issued for Gurugram and Faridabad. This means wind speeds in these areas could reach 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, posing risks of falling trees, damaged electric poles, and traffic disruptions.
