Special campaigns are underway across the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi to raise awareness among children about environmental conservation and biodiversity. Through programmes organised by government and non-governmental organisations, children are being educated on the importance of nature, pollution control and wildlife preservation.
The primary goal of these drives is to instil environmental sensitivity in young minds. Schools have hosted competitions on environmental themes, essay writing, art and theatre. Additionally, children are being taken on field visits to wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, where experts explain the significance of biodiversity. Under Delhi government’s ‘Every Child, Every Tree’ initiative, schools have also organised tree-planting drives.
