A man died tragically after chasing a thief who snatched his phone at a busy railway station in Delhi. The incident occurred yesterday, 15th October, around 7:30 PM on Platform 3 of the New Delhi Railway Station. According to eyewitnesses, a young man snatched the victim’s phone and fled the platform. Enraged, the victim gave chase and attempted to catch the thief outside the station. However, the thief pushed him, causing a fatal fall.
Severely injured, the victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries en route.
Police sources reported that a few passengers at the station tried to apprehend the thief, but he managed to escape. The deceased has been identified as Prashant Kumar (42), a resident of Delhi, survived by his wife and two children. A murder case has been registered at the local police station. Authorities stated that they have initiated an investigation and are analyzing CCTV footage. New Delhi Railway Station security officials confirmed plans to strengthen security measures at the station.
