The previous record of 5.41m was set by Kuldeep Kumar earlier this month in Bhubaneswar. Meena, representing Madhya Pradesh, clinched the gold medal through countback rules, while Kuldeep settled for silver. Both athletes not only broke the national record but also comfortably breached the Athletics Federation of India's Commonwealth Games qualification standard of 5.25m for the 2026 edition.
