New Delhi, June 2, 2026: The Delhi government has announced a significant change in the free travel facility for women passengers in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses. The government has decided to gradually phase out the ‘Pink Ticket’ system and replace it with the ‘Pink Saheli NCMC Smart Card’ for free travel. This information was shared by Delhi’s Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar in an exclusive conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh.
The Transport Minister stated that the government is working swiftly to implement this new system. He mentioned that over 10 lakh ‘Pink Saheli NCMC Smart Cards’ have already been issued within just 80 to 82 days. The government aims to extend this facility to a total of 14 lakh women commuters in Delhi. To achieve this target, the card issuance process is being expedited across 72 centres.
