In the latest incident, adulteration has been detected in the prasadam offered at the Chinnavenkanna Temple, a prominent pilgrimage site in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana. While locals and devotees express concern over the issue, officials have initiated an investigation.
The Chinnavenkanna Temple is one of the key attractions in Dwaraka Tirumala, where thousands of devotees visit daily to partake in the prasadam. However, some devotees recently complained about an unusual taste and smell in the prasadam. Promptly responding to the complaints, local authorities launched an inquiry to determine if adulteration was taking place. Temple authorities and officials from the Food Safety Department jointly collected samples of the prasadam and sent them to a laboratory for testing.
Upon inspecting the prasadam preparation process, officials identified lapses in hygiene at the temple’s kitchen. They also found that there was a possibility of adulteration in the ingredients, water, and other resources used in making the prasadam. As the test results of the collected samples are still awaited, authorities are continuing their investigation.
