Police have busted a major liquor smuggling racket on the Kota-Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan. According to officials, an individual was caught transporting branded liquor worth over ₹5 lakh hidden in an Endeavour car. Acting swiftly upon receiving the tip-off, the police team intercepted the vehicle and seized the liquor bottles.
Authorities stated that a total of 120 bottles were recovered from the car, including foreign liquor brands. The accused is currently being interrogated, and further investigation into the matter is underway.
Local police officers revealed that the incident was uncovered during a routine check at a checkpoint on the expressway. They identified the accused as a resident of Alwar district in Rajasthan and alleged that he was involved in smuggling liquor into Gujarat. The seized bottles bore labels of foreign brands such as Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniel’s, and Chivas Regal.
