A fire broke out in a three-storey building in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area on Sunday night, resulting in minor injuries to a woman, officials confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred at a ground-plus-three-storey structure located in Indira Vihar, which also housed paying guest accommodations, according to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS). The blaze was reported at 10:29 PM on May 31, 2026, prompting an immediate response from fire authorities.
Five fire tenders were rushed to the scene within minutes of receiving the emergency call. Firefighters arrived to find the fire concentrated on the ground floor, where electrical items were stored. The flames quickly spread upward, engulfing parts of the building up to the second floor. Despite the rapid spread, all occupants were successfully evacuated from the building before any further harm could occur, officials stated.
