A bank manager was shot dead by his security guard in Ghaziabad on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at a private bank branch in Mohan Nagar, where the guard opened fire on the manager after allegedly being denied leave for his team.
According to police, the manager had refused to grant leave to his team members, which enraged the security guard. The guard then fired a shot, killing the manager on the spot. Witnesses at the scene stated that the guard fled the bank with a rifle after shooting the manager. A manhunt has been launched by the police to track him down.
Police and local authorities arrived at the scene to take control of the situation. The bank’s management confirmed that the deceased manager, Rahul Sharma, was 42 years old and had been working at the bank for the past 15 years. Other staff members were present at the time of the incident but did not attempt to stop the guard.
The security guard, identified as Ajay Singh, had been working at the bank for the last five years. Police have raided his residence and are conducting an investigation. They are also questioning the bank staff and the guard’s family to determine the exact cause of the incident.
