Police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, have uncovered an interstate criminal gang specialising in the targeted theft of two-wheelers. The gang is said to have been operating across multiple states. Following an investigation, police have arrested four individuals, including the alleged mastermind.
Ghaziabad police have detained three men and one woman, including Rajesh Kumar (35), identified as the gang’s ringleader. During the arrests, authorities recovered multiple two-wheeler registration documents and theft tools from the suspects. The operation was led by officers from Ghaziabad’s Site 4 police station.
Investigations revealed that the gang had been stealing two-wheelers not only in various districts of Uttar Pradesh but also in Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. According to police, the group used CCTV cameras to monitor when owners left their vehicles unattended, enabling them to carry out targeted thefts.
Police suspect the gang attempted to resell the stolen two-wheelers. Further questioning of the arrested members is underway to gather additional intelligence. The probe is ongoing, and more arrests are expected in the case.
