According to police reports, the incident occurred during regular business hours, raising concerns about the security measures in local jewellery stores.
The accused, identified as Suresh Yadav and his wife Rekha Devi, entered the jewellery shop and began engaging the shopkeeper, Rameshwar Prasad, in prolonged conversation. While Prasad was distracted, the couple allegedly picked up multiple silver items from the counter and concealed them before leaving the shop. It was only after they had exited that the shopkeeper noticed the missing jewellery and realized he had been tricked.
