The Gujarat government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has launched a WhatsApp-based governance platform to enhance accessibility and efficiency in delivering citizen services. The initiative, announced by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) Gujarat, is designed to allow residents to access government services through the popular messaging app, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices.
The new platform, named ‘WhatsApp Governance’, integrates various online citizen services, enabling users to apply for certificates, licenses, and other government documents directly via WhatsApp. This digital transformation aims to streamline bureaucratic processes, reduce paperwork, and improve transparency. Users can initiate requests by sending a message to a designated WhatsApp number, after which they will receive step-by-step guidance and updates on their application status.
