New Delhi, June 13: Reigning World Chess Champion D Gukesh has publicly acknowledged that the criticism surrounding his recent performances is justified, expressing understanding toward former champions who have questioned his form. Speaking ahead of the Norway Chess tournament, the 18-year-old Indian grandmaster said that while he chooses not to focus on most of the negative comments, he respects the right of critics to voice their opinions. “Most of it (critical comments made by former greats) I don't see, but there are some that I have heard and I think it's fair,” Gukesh told reporters, as quoted by PTI. “They (critics) have the right to say what they feel and I have the right to do my best.”
