Desh ki ek national party, Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM), ne ED (Enforcement Directorate) ke kaam-kaj ke khilaaf bahut saare criticisms ke baad, Delhi mein bhi unke leaders ke khilaaf protest shuru ho gaye hain. Budhvaar, June 5, 2024 ko Delhi ke Jantar Mantar area mein hua yeh protest bade scale par violent ho gaya. Protestors aur police ke beech hathapaychi tak ho gayi, jiske baad police ne protestors ko control karne ke liye lathi charge kiya. Is protest mein CPM ke senior leader aur former Kerala CM, M.A. Baby samet kai leaders ko police ne arrest kar liya.
Kerala se aaye CPM ke state leaders ne is incident par pratikriya dete hue kaha, "ED ki anti-corruption operations specifically party ko target kar rahi hain." Unhone yeh bhi kaha ki Baby samet leaders ko arrest karna illegal hai. Protest mein CPM ke National Council members aur Kerala ke activists bhi shaamil the. Protestors ki maang thi ki ED ke kaam ke khilaaf legal action liya jaye aur Baby samet leaders ko release kiya jaye.
