A crucial meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) committee in Ahmedabad could finalise the proposal for a Test series between India and Pakistan. Scheduled for February 22, 2024, in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, the meeting will deliberate on matters such as the expansion of the World Test Championship, security arrangements, and logistical concerns.
Discussions between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been ongoing. Earlier attempts to organise a Test series between the two nations had been stalled due to security concerns. However, the ICC is said to be adopting a positive stance on the matter at present.
Key topics on the agenda include the expansion of the World Test Championship, security protocols, travel permissions, and match arrangements. Representatives from both the BCCI and PCB will be present at the meeting. If a favourable decision is reached, it could pave the way for a Test series between India and Pakistan.
