In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a would-be ATM thief was caught on camera during a failed attempt to break into an ATM machine late on Tuesday night. The police have arrested him at the scene. According to sources, the accused had targeted the ATM after dark but was thwarted by its security system and the police’s vigilance. At the spot, the police have secured CCTV footage and other evidence.
Local police officials identified the arrested suspect as Rahul alias Raju (32 years old), a resident of the surrounding areas of Indore. The accused had struck around 2 a.m. near an ATM in a busy part of the city. He had used an iron crowbar and other tools to try to break open the machine. However, the ATM’s internal alarm and the nearby police outpost’s alertness led to his swift capture. The police took him into custody from the spot and have begun investigating the case.
