The team's qualification journey began in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, where they participated in the regional Asia-Oceania Final Qualifying tournament.
The Indian team, comprising Tavish Pahwa, Hruthik Katakam, and Ribhav Saroha, made a strong start in the round-robin stage, recording convincing wins over Indonesia (2-1), Malaysia (3-0), and China (3-0). This impressive performance set the tone for their subsequent matches, as they went on to beat Uzbekistan 2-0 in the quarterfinals. However, their semifinal match against Kazakhstan proved to be a challenging one, as they lost 0-2. The team's third-place match against Japan also ended in a 0-2 loss.
