Indian airline service provider IndiGo has recently launched a direct flight from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Adampur, Punjab, to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. This new service will make it easier and more convenient for tourists and devotees visiting Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, one of the five takhts of Sikhism, located in Nanded, Maharashtra. The introduction of this flight will reduce travel time and cost from Adampur to Mumbai. Previously, there was no direct flight on this route, forcing passengers to travel via Delhi or other intermediate cities. The direct flight will now operate three days a week, providing passengers with more options. IndiGo has deployed its Airbus A320 neo aircraft, which has a seating capacity of 180 passengers, for this flight. The ticket price for this flight has also been kept relatively low, making it accessible to the general public. The launch of this flight not only makes it easier for those visiting Takht Sri Hazur Sahib but also enhances connectivity between Punjab and Maharashtra. On the launch of this flight, Vinod Kannan, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at IndiGo, stated that this flight is specifically designed for passengers traveling to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib. He also mentioned that there are plans to increase the number of flights on this route in the future.
