Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane has praised the resilience and fighting spirit of his team, despite a disappointing performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Speaking after the team's final league match against Delhi Capitals, Rahane acknowledged that the side struggled in the opening phase, but showed promise in patches.
Rahane, who led the team to a defeat against Delhi Capitals, admitted that the first six games of the season were tough for KKR. However, he praised the team's ability to come back and fight, despite the odds being against them. "I am really proud of the way we came back as a team," Rahane said. "The first six games were tough, and although we played good cricket in phases, we failed to capitalise on the key moments. In a tournament like the IPL, those fine margins make all the difference."
