After Rajasthan Royals' win in the second qualifier match of IPL 2026, star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has come under the spotlight. Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu has advised him to change teams. Rayudu believes that Jaiswal's shine is fading in front of Vaibhav Suryavanshi's consistent explosive performances. While Rajasthan Royals secured their spot in the final by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, questions about Jaiswal's role have taken centre stage.
Ambati Rayudu, in a clear statement during an ESPNcricinfo show, said that Yashasvi Jaiswal should consider switching teams. His argument is that a star player like Jaiswal shouldn’t always be overshadowed by a young talent like Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Rayudu remarked, “Jaiswal is a star in his own right. He needs an environment where he can single-handedly win matches. It’s not good for him to keep batting alongside Vaibhav Suryavanshi every time.” According to Rayudu, Rajasthan now needs an experienced opener who can hold his own against Suryavanshi’s aggressive batting.
