According to the latest report released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in April 2026, global air cargo demand has seen a notable increase. The report states that air cargo demand in April 2026 grew by 4% compared to the same period last year. Similarly, international cargo traffic also recorded a 4% rise. However, while total cargo-carrying capacity saw a slight decline of 0.4%, strong activity on Asian trade routes provided support to the sector.

He highlighted significant growth, particularly on the Asia-Europe and Africa-Asia routes. Intra-Asia trade also showed strong momentum. According to the report, airlines in the Asia-Pacific region saw a 10.5% increase, while Europe and North America recorded growths of 6% and 5%, respectively.
