The Madhya Pradesh Excise Department conducted a major crackdown on illegal liquor production in Bhitarwar, Gwalior district, seizing 5,400 kg of raw material (lahan) and one illegal still. During the operation, goods worth approximately ₹5.40 lakh were destroyed. Officials have registered four FIRs and launched an investigation, with further raids continuing.
According to local sources, the operation was carried out on Thursday night. The Excise Department team located the illegal still during a surprise raid. A large quantity of raw materials and manufacturing equipment were also confiscated during the operation. Officials stated that apart from lahan, several empty bottles and other materials used in liquor production were recovered.
