Hyderabad, May 28, 2026: A private hospital in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, has been booked under a First Information Report (FIR) following allegations of medical negligence in the death of a 55-year-old man who underwent gallstone surgery. The deceased, identified as Ummalla Mallayya, a resident of Ramayyapalli village in Peddapalli district, Telangana, was admitted to Ananya Hospital in Kukatpally on May 26, 2026, for treatment of gallstones.
According to the Kukatpally police, Mallayya underwent gallstone surgery at the hospital. However, soon after the procedure, he began experiencing severe abdominal pain. The family alleged that despite multiple requests to the doctors, the patient’s complaints were ignored, and the pain was dismissed as a normal post-surgical symptom. The patient’s condition continued to deteriorate over the next few days, and he died on the morning of May 28, 2026. The exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed yet.
