Mumbai, May 26, 2026: A major case of digital data theft has surfaced in Mumbai’s film industry. As many as 66 hard drives have gone missing from the production house *Tiger Baby Digital*, co-founded by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. These drives contained sensitive data from several high-profile and unreleased projects. The police have now made a second arrest in the case, detaining Ritesh Suresh Shah (44), bringing the total number of accused to two. The first accused, Mohammad Shahid Azim Khan, was arrested earlier. Both have been remanded to police custody until May 29.
The incident came to light on May 21, 2026, when staff at the Bandra West office needed the hard drives for work. After an extensive search failed to locate them, an inspection of the storage cabinet revealed several empty and damaged boxes. Following this, Mehjabeen Mushtaq Sheikh, the company’s HR and executive assistant, filed a police complaint, after which an FIR was registered and investigations began.
