The Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious project, the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, will be inaugurated for public use in the first week of June. With the opening of this highway, the travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur will see a significant reduction, cutting down the previous three-hour journey to just 40 minutes.
The expressway, spanning approximately 60 kilometres, will feature eight lanes. It will stretch from Chand Saraovar in Lucknow to near the Kanpur Depot in Kanpur. The total estimated cost of the project is around ₹4,600 crore, and it will be managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
This expressway is expected to play a crucial role in boosting the state’s economic and commercial growth, enhancing connectivity between Lucknow and Kanpur. It will also provide a major boost to industries and commercial activities in the region. Additionally, the highway will offer a more convenient travel option for commuters, saving both time and fuel.
