Employees of the Panchayati Raj Department in Jaipur, Rajasthan, have launched the 'Save Dignity Movement' on Thursday against the government's policies. During this protest, the employees have also warned of a mass protest (collective suicide). The main hub of this agitation is reported to be the Mangalgarh area, from where a large number of employees have participated.
According to local sources, this movement by Panchayati Raj employees is the result of long-standing discontent. The employees allege that the government has ignored their demands, forcing them to take this step. Their key demands include salary hikes, improvements in service conditions, and regularisation. Additionally, they are also angry over the delay in local body elections and the government's attitude towards employees.
During the protest, employees held rallies in various parts of Jaipur and raised slogans against the government. They have tried to convey their demands to the government through their leaders. Officials say they are seriously considering the employees' demands and will soon hold a meeting.
