Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut recently shared emotional insights into her family’s initial reservations about her acting career, admitting that her breakthrough film *Gangster* (2006) failed to win their approval. Speaking during a promotional event for her upcoming film *Bharat Bhagya Viddhaata*, Kangana described her parents’ reaction as deeply hurtful, revealing that they viewed the film industry with suspicion and even believed it was influenced by the underworld.
Recalling the aftermath of *Gangster*, she said her father did not respond at all, while her mother expressed concern over Kangana’s age and the nature of the scenes she performed. “They were not very okay with what I was doing, but they knew that I would figure it out by myself,” Kangana stated. Her mother’s comment, “You are underage and they made you do these scenes,” left her stunned. “So I replied that you only saw those scenes in this entire film? I was so heartbroken that that’s how they perceived that film, because they were thinking what society would think,” she added. From that point on, she decided not to seek her parents’ opinions on her films, as they had never watched them.
