The city’s qazi and local Muslim community leaders have also inspected the ground and its surroundings to review security measures.
Thousands of devotees are expected to gather at the Idgah Maidan for the Bakrid namaz. Police, in coordination with the district magistrate and the RAF, have drawn up an emergency response plan. Drones are being used to keep watch, and any suspicious activity will be detected and neutralised immediately. City Qazi Maulvi Nazir Kasmi has confirmed that the security setup around the ground and its vicinity is robust and that, with community cooperation, the namaz will proceed peacefully.
