An FIR has been registered against the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bile Gram in Kanpur district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1.50 lakh in the government’s fodder procurement process. District police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) based on preliminary findings that the officer misused official authority for illicit gains.
According to sources, the BDO was involved in the fodder procurement process under the Bile Gram Panchayat in rural Kanpur. It has been alleged that the officer used their influence to demand ₹1.50 lakh from a contractor involved in the process to inflate the purchase price and secure additional profits. Following a local complaint, police launched an investigation and registered the FIR. Legal action has been initiated against the accused officer under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).
Details of the case reveal that the officer pressured the contractor to purchase fodder at a rate higher than the government-fixed price. To avoid the extra cost, the contractor allegedly resorted to paying a bribe. Police are continuing their probe, collecting documents and gathering witness statements.
