A distressing incident occurred in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, where an employee got trapped between a lift and the wall. Upon receiving the information, local administration and a fire brigade team rushed to the spot. It took nearly half an hour to safely rescue the employee.
The incident took place in a commercial complex in Govindnagar, Kanpur. According to sources, the employee accidentally got stuck between the lift door and the wall while boarding the lift. Hearing his cries, nearby people immediately alerted emergency services. The fire brigade team attempted to open the lift door, but for safety reasons, the lift’s main system was shut down. Subsequently, the team used the emergency door located on top of the lift to rescue the employee.
Local administration officials stated that the employee sustained minor injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. His condition is reported to be stable at present. Following the incident, the owner of the complex has assured that regular inspections of the lift will be conducted.
