Floods wreak havoc in Nashik, Maharashtra: Vehicles swept away as residents struggle in knee-deep water

Heavy rainfall over the past few days has triggered severe flooding in Nashik, Maharashtra, causing widespread damage across the city. Several areas have been submerged under floodwaters, with major roads submerged up to neck-deep levels, leaving residents in distress.

Numerous vehicles have been swept away by the raging waters, as evidenced by videos circulating on social media showing cars and bikes floating in the floodwaters while people attempt to reach higher ground. The deluge has also damaged roads, bringing traffic to a standstill. The Nashik district administration has stated that relief efforts are underway to mitigate the impact of the floods.

In response to the crisis, Nashik Municipal Corporation Mayor Vidya Thakare has urged residents to move to safer locations. She stated, "Several areas have been severely affected by the floods. It is advisable for people to evacuate their homes and relocate to safer places. The government is taking all necessary measures."
