A chilling murder case has surfaced in a rural area of Karnataka. Local sources reveal that the two individuals involved had been friends for nearly seven years. However, this friendship took a gruesome turn, allegedly driven by the ex-wife’s greed.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in a remote village in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district. The victim, Ramesh (35), was a local businessman. The accused, Meenakshi (32), had been his close friend for about seven years. Reports suggest that Meenakshi, who had divorced a few years earlier, had grown particularly close to Ramesh. However, after his death, nearly ₹5 lakh was allegedly withdrawn from his bank account. While Meenakshi faces no direct murder charges, a case of financial embezzlement has been filed against her.
Police stated that Ramesh’s body was recovered from a well near his home. Preliminary investigations have classified the death as a homicide, though the motive remains unclear. Authorities added that Meenakshi frequently borrowed money from Ramesh and allegedly withdrew funds from his account after his death. Locals claim that even after their relationship ended, she continued pressuring him for money.
