The controversy surrounding the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 results has taken a serious turn. Allegations are being made that the 'Digital On-Screen Marking' (OSM) system adopted by the board lacks transparency and has irregularities, putting the future of millions of students at risk. In this controversy, a company named 'Compt Edutech' has come under scrutiny, with the Ministry of Education intensifying its internal investigation into irregularities in the allotment of tenders. The company has a controversial history, having previously been known as 'Globarena' and being involved in a case of irregularities in the Telangana Intermediate exam results. Officials from the Ministry of Education believe that the terms of the tender were deliberately altered to benefit Compt Edutech. When a TV9 team visited the company's office, they were informed that some people had quietly left the premises, and attempts to contact the company's officials were unsuccessful. Security personnel prevented the team from entering, stating that no officials were present. The company's office is located in the Maduranagar area of Hyderabad, which falls under the Hitech City area. Following this controversy, student unions across the country have begun protesting, demanding justice for the affected students. In this case, 17-year-old student Sarthak Sidharth presented his presentation before the parliamentary committee. Sarthak Sidharth discussed the on-screen marking system used for class 12 results and its associated problems before the Parliamentary Standing Committee (Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports). Committee Chairman and Congress MP Digvijay Singh stated that the committee would now await the response from CBSE. Sarthak Sidharth has alleged in his blog that CBSE changed its rules to benefit Compt Edutech. He revealed that the company was previously known as 'Globarena' and was involved in a case where 23 students committed suicide due to irregularities in the Telangana Intermediate exam results. He also alleged that the board made changes to the eligibility and technical requirements in three different tender rounds, which benefited Compt Edutech. Analyzing the tender documents, student Sarthak Sidharth pointed out that the initial RFP (Request for Proposal) had a condition stating that the company should not have been 'blacklisted earlier,' while the new RFP changed this to 'currently blacklisted.' He claims that such a change was deliberately made in favor of the service provider, which had been blacklisted earlier. He mentioned at least 15 discrepancies, highlighting three to four major ones. CBSE has stated that the process was transparent, but the facts that will emerge from the Education Department's investigation are being considered significant. Several leaders, including Telangana Congress leader Shyam Mohan Reddy, have raised questions about this issue. Student unions have warned that they will continue to fight until each affected student receives justice. This entire matter has not only increased concern among students and parents but has also raised questions about the transparency of the education system across the country.
