In Chinnashankarampet mandal of Medak district, Telangana, a bitter property feud between two brothers escalated so far that, even after their mother’s death, they chose to defile her remains rather than reconcile. The incident exposes not only the callousness within the family but also the criminal consequences of unchecked greed for property in our society.
The deceased, 70-year-old Reddy Chandramma, had been ailing for a long time. She passed away at the home of her younger son, Gopal. When the elder brother, Nagaraju, arrived after being informed of her death, he showed no grief whatsoever. Instead, he immediately demanded an accounting from Gopal over the division of land and the money from a previous sale. Nagaraju set a condition: no final rites would be performed and no legal documents signed until the entire financial settlement was complete. His demand deepened the rift between the brothers.
