Thiruvananthapuram, June 12 — Kerala BJP vice-president and former Director General of Police (DGP) R. Sreelekha has sharply criticised the Congress and CPI(M) for staging protests against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducting a probe into the financial dealings of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s daughter, Chandy Anusha.
Addressing a press conference in the state capital on Wednesday, Sreelekha questioned the opposition parties’ stance, asking whether the maintenance of law and order was not the primary duty of the police when a central investigative agency like the ED was examining allegations against a prominent political figure’s family member.
