The incident allegedly took place inside the hotel, where a female employee was physically and mentally harassed by her colleague, Nasir. The woman had filed a complaint with the local police, which has since initiated an investigation.
According to the allegations, on September 10, around 9:15 pm, Nasir and the female employee had a conversation in the lobby of the hotel, which later turned into a dispute. Nasir allegedly physically assaulted the woman and subjected her to mental harassment. Eyewitnesses claim that the woman was screaming for help, but the hotel staff ignored her pleas. The woman immediately filed a complaint with the local police after the incident.
The police have confirmed that the initial investigation has found evidence to support the allegations, and Nasir has been arrested. Nasir was produced in court on Friday, where he was sentenced to judicial custody. According to the police sources, if the allegations are proven, Nasir could face severe punishment under sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
