Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway set for inauguration! To be opened this week; toll rates here

News has come that the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, built to make travel between Uttar Pradesh’s two major cities—Lucknow and Kanpur—smoother, is all set for inauguration this week. State Transport and Highways Minister Dayashankar Mishra has shared details about the event. With the opening of this expressway, the distance between Lucknow and Kanpur will be reduced by about 70 kilometres. The expressway will enable the journey to be completed in just six hours.

Along with the inauguration of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, details about the toll rates for travellers have also been made available. The expressway will feature a total of 10 toll plazas, and the toll charges will depend on the distance travelled and the type of vehicle. For instance, a small car may have to pay between ₹250 and ₹350 at the toll plazas. Separate rates have been fixed for buses and trucks as well.

The inauguration of this expressway is expected to bring significant changes to the state’s transport system. The construction of the expressway, which cost around ₹2,500 crore, involved the participation of over 30,000 workers. The expressway is also expected to play a key role in boosting the state’s economic growth.
