In several areas of Lucknow city, a dangerous situation arose in the early hours of Thursday when high-tension electric wires fell onto homes. The incident was reported around 1 a.m. in the Bengali Bazaar, Husainganj, and Sadar Bazaar areas, damaging dozens of houses. Locals spotted the wires on the ground and immediately contacted the police and electricity department officials.
A state of emergency unfolded in the affected areas, with residents too frightened to step out of their homes. In Bengali Bazaar, two houses were completely destroyed, while four houses in Husainganj suffered partial damage. Electricity department officials swiftly launched clearance operations, temporarily cutting off power to the area as a safety measure.
Authorities cordoned off the area with police presence and warned people against entering the zone. With high-tension wires down, an advisory against electric shocks was issued, urging residents to stay cautious. A case has been registered at the local police station, and electricity department officials are investigating the incident.
