Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – Police said on Friday that a man who attempted to molest a woman inside a moving auto in the Gomtinagar area has been arrested after a brief encounter. Acting swiftly upon receiving information about the incident, police teams succeeded in apprehending the accused.
According to local police officers, the incident took place around 9 pm on Thursday night. The victim was travelling in an auto-rickshaw on her way home when the man sitting behind her began making obscene gestures. The woman immediately protested and even took pictures of the accused on her mobile phone before informing the police.
Based on the information provided by the victim, police identified the accused. Police teams promptly stepped up surveillance in the area where the accused was likely to be staying. Around 7 am on Friday, the police located the accused, Mohammad Rizwan (32), and arrested him. During the arrest, police also recovered the accused’s mobile phone, which contained the pictures he had taken of the victim.
