Lucknow: Businessman Sandeep Killed in Land Dispute; Accused Arrested

Lucknow, [Date] – A businessman was shot dead in a land dispute in a village in Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh. The accused have been arrested by the police. According to police sources, Sandeep, a businessman, was killed over a long-standing land dispute in his own village.

Giving details of the incident, the police said that Sandeep owned land in a village near Lucknow. There had been an old dispute over the land between his family and neighbours. Recently, the dispute escalated, and on the night of 15 October 2023, Sandeep was shot dead. Acting on evidence found at the crime scene, the police arrested four accused immediately. The arrested accused include three local residents from Sandeep’s village and one outsider.

The police said that the accused had previously threatened to carry out a fatal attack on Sandeep. Sandeep’s family told the police that they had suspected something like this might happen, but no special security measures were provided by the police in time. After the incident, the police began investigating the case and registered a case against the accused under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and criminal conspiracy.
