Lucknow, July 15 — A project to preserve manuscripts under the Gyan Bharatam Mission has been launched at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama in Lucknow. This initiative has opened new avenues for the preservation of the state’s historical and cultural records. The project aims to preserve manuscripts collected from various parts of the state for the long term by digitising them.
A workshop on manuscript preservation under the Gyan Bharatam Mission is being held in Lucknow, with experts and officials participating. The manuscripts preserved under this project are in Sanskrit, Prakrit, Pali, and local languages, and their cultural significance is immense. For instance, these manuscripts include texts on science, medicine, philosophy, and religion written in Sanskrit.
Under this project, digitising the manuscripts will not only preserve copies but also make their essence accessible to the public and researchers. This will enable scholars and students to study these manuscripts easily. Additionally, the use of modern technology will play a key role in preserving the manuscripts.
