A newly constructed road in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area collapsed just three days after its completion, drawing sharp criticism from local residents. The road, built on the 28th, caved in suddenly around 1:30 PM on the 31st. While parts of the road had been repaired, heavy rainfall and poor construction quality are being blamed for the collapse, according to locals.
Residents have expressed their anger on social media, calling the incident a reflection of the government’s poor management. Many have threatened to hold protests and demonstrations against local authorities over the matter.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation officials responded, stating, “The road was inspected immediately after construction. However, we are investigating the sudden collapse.” They added that repair work on the collapsed section has already begun.
