Maharashtra ki Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ne Bhiwandi ki company Rex International se 5,929 kg industrial-grade methanol zabt kiya hai. Yeh action Pune aur Pimpri-Chinchwad mein deadly bootleg liquor tragedy mein 16 logon ki jaan jaane ke baad liya gaya hai. FDA officials ne Monday, June 1, 2026 ko press statement jari karke iske baare mein confirm kiya.
Ek FDA officer ke mutabik, police investigations se pata chala hai ki spurious liquor banane mein istemal hone wala methanol Rex International ke warehouse se hi aaya tha. Company ka headquarters Vashi, Navi Mumbai mein hai aur iska ek aur warehouse Bhiwandi, Thane district mein hai, jahan raid ki gayi.
