Nashik, Maharashtra – Three separate incidents of alleged rape and abuse of minors have surfaced in Nashik district, Maharashtra, over the past few days, sparking widespread outrage. According to police officials, cases have been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including Section 376 (rape), Section 377 (unnatural offences), and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The first incident occurred in the Harshul area of Nashik city, where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour. The victim, in her statement to the police, claimed the accused lured her inside his house under the pretext of giving her something and then committed the crime. Following the complaint, the accused has been arrested. The second case is from a village in Niphad taluka, where a 10-year-old girl was allegedly abused by a relative. Police said the accused took the victim outside the house and committed the offence. The third incident took place in Devla taluka, where a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her schoolteacher. The accused teacher has also been arrested in this case.
