Bengaluru (Karnataka). Once again, public anger spilled onto the streets over the inconvenience caused to common people in the name of the Governor’s security. On Sunday afternoon, traffic on Old Airport Road was completely stopped for about 30 minutes to allow the Governor’s convoy to pass. During this time, a man was trying to take his pregnant wife to the hospital. Frustrated by the traffic jam, he staged a protest right on the road and had a heated argument with the police. A video of the incident went viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), causing a stir in the police department.
Around 12:13 PM on Sunday, a user named @Prajvalprince posted a video with the caption, “Today, traffic was stopped completely for about 30 minutes due to the Governor’s movement.” The video shows a man sitting on a zebra crossing near ISRO Junction and arguing with traffic police officers on duty. He alleged that his wife, who is pregnant, was in the car, while the police insisted that the Governor had not even left HAL Airport yet. According to netizens, the man was rushing his wife to the hospital. Old Airport Road is already narrowed due to ongoing underpass construction work, leading to daily traffic jams.
