The accident took place when a cement-loaded truck rammed into a private van traveling on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway (NH-48). According to police officials, the truck driver was speeding toward the van, leading to the collision. Police and local administration reached the accident site and informed the families of the deceased.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the truck driver lost control while overtaking, causing it to collide with the van coming from the opposite direction. The truck was heavily loaded with cement, which exacerbated the severity of the accident. The truck driver has been arrested, and a case has been registered against him under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Additionally, the van driver and other involved individuals are being questioned.
