Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: Second TBM Machine Ready in Ghansoli for 21 km Underground Route
मुख्य बातें
- •Second TBM machine deployed for 21 km underground route under Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project
- •Machine capable of excavating 15 to 20 metres of tunnel per day
- •NHSRCL officials assure no delay in project timeline
- •Travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad expected to be around two hours upon completion
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has gained further momentum. A second massive Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has been set up in Ghansoli to construct a 21-kilometre underground route. According to the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the agency overseeing the project, this machine will play a crucial role in excavating the underground tunnel.
The total length of the Bullet Train project spans 508 kilometres, cutting through various parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The underground route is considered the most challenging segment, involving the construction of multiple tunnels and bridges. The second TBM deployed in Ghansoli will accelerate the construction of the underground route. Notably, this machine can excavate tunnels at a rate of approximately 15 to 20 metres per day.
NHSRCL officials stated that the first TBM has already completed sections of the tunnel, and with the second machine now operational, there will be no delay in the project’s timeline. Engineers working on the project are confident that this machine will significantly speed up the underground tunnel construction compared to traditional methods.
