Mumbai, June 20: The Congress party staged a unique protest against rising inflation on Saturday. Party workers took to the streets in various parts of Mumbai, holding a demonstration against inflation while distributing 'Melody' chocolates.
During the protest, Congress workers distributed 'Melody' chocolates to raise awareness about the impact of inflation on people’s lives. They highlighted that soaring prices have severely affected the daily necessities of common citizens, and demanded that the government take note of the issue. Workers also expressed their dissent through posters and slogans.
A senior Congress leader stated, “Due to inflation, people can no longer afford basic food items. Through this unique protest, we want to send a message to the government to take this issue seriously.” He added that the Congress is always committed to working in the public interest.
Police officials confirmed that the protest passed off peacefully without any disruptions. They also noted that while Congress workers have held multiple demonstrations against inflation in the past, this was the first time they used 'Melody' chocolates as a symbolic gesture.
