72-year-old man crushed to death when jeep flips while he tries to wedge a stone under its tyre

A tragic incident in a village in Thrissur district claimed the life of a 72-year-old man. He had placed a stone under a jeep’s tyre to prevent it from rolling away when the vehicle suddenly flipped over. Bystanders, who witnessed the mishap, were left stunned. Though emergency services were summoned immediately, the man succumbed to his injuries before help could reach him.

According to the police, the accident occurred in a plantation in Kuttanad, Thrissur district. The jeep driver, whose job involved halting vehicles, told investigators that the man had placed a stone under the tyre and was attempting to get off the vehicle when the jeep overturned. In the process, the elderly man got trapped under the jeep’s wheel. By the time emergency services arrived, it was too late to save him.
